CM Krishak Mitra Yojana 2024: The CM Krishak Mitra Yojana 2024 is an initiative by the Madhya Pradesh government aimed at providing various benefits to farmers. One of the key features of this scheme is offering up to 50% subsidy on expenses related to pump connections. Launched in collaboration with the electricity company, this scheme ensures the extension of an 11 KV line and the installation of transformers up to 200 meters to aid farmers in irrigation without any hurdles.

Overview of CM Krishak Mitra Yojana

On September 16, 2023, former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan introduced the CM Krishak Mitra Yojana. The scheme aims to provide substantial support to farmers, including permanent pump connections with subsidies. For pumps with 3 horsepower or more, the government also facilitates the setup of transformers and an 11 KV electric line, sharing 50% of the installation costs with farmers.

The scheme is divided into two phases: the first phase will connect 10,000 pumps, and the second phase will provide opportunities to those who missed out in the first phase. Over the next two years, agricultural pump connections will be distributed, with the government covering 50% of the costs, including transformer installation and maintenance, while farmers bear the remaining 50%.

Objectives of CM Krishak Mitra Yojana

The main objective of the Krishak Mitra Yojana is to encourage farming by providing permanent electricity pump connections for irrigation. This initiative aims to prevent losses due to water scarcity, which often leads farmers to abandon their fields. By offering high-capacity pump connections, the government ensures that farmers can easily manage their agricultural activities.

Subsidy Under CM Krishak Mitra Yojana

The government provides up to 50% subsidy on the total expenses incurred. These expenses are divided into three parts, shared by the government and the electricity distribution company. Farmers are responsible for 50% of the costs, while the government and the distribution company cover the rest. The scheme also includes extending the 11 KV line up to 200 meters from the pump connection site.
